  • Work on the "backside" in the barns at Churchill Downs is intense and tough on the normal days. On Derby Day, it is madness. I love a good conspiracy theory, but it's quite possible a worker fell to heat and humidity exhaustion and / or a heart attack. Truly sad.

  • A male body was found in a barn on the backside of Churchill Downs the night after one of the largest horse races of the year. There is a little more news than you want to either see or admit.

  •  Matt reported that the hit and run driver was sentenced to 6 months. Not true. He served 6 months of a 5 year sentence.  I'm not saying I agree with the length of the sentence or the time served. But NBC reported this story incorrectly, and in doing so, sensationalized it.
